Thompson Campus Center
Thompson Campus Center (TCC) facilities include a gymnasium with a full-sized basketball court or two smaller full basketball courts, an indoor jogging area, mats for stretching, and a climbing wall. There is a temperature-controlled racquetball court, which converts to wallyball. The strength/cardio/exercise room offers Hammer Strength and free weights including dumbbells, squat rack, bench press and incline press and decline bench with 300-pound Olympic weights available at each press. The cardio equipment includes treadmills, ellipticals, Step Mills, stationary bikes, and rowing machines. This room also has a sound system and TVs. A studio room is equipped with a barre, sound system, a heavy bag, and speed bag, and is available for group activity classes. The outdoor open play area, located on the west side of the building, allows for football, basketball, soccer, frisbee, etc.Also, a paved fitness trail follows the perimeter of the property (.4 mile) and a nature trail (2.25 miles) winds through the woods west of the TCC. There are men’s and women’s locker rooms available and a family restroom is downstairs.

Annual & Recreational Events +
-
Founder’s Day Run — A 5k run and 1.5-mile walk, coordinated with the ATSU President's Office to support student initiatives and programs, with a local charity benefiting from the proceeds. Held on Founder’s Day Saturday.
Reindeer Romp — This 4-mile and 1.5-mile run is a fundraiser for the ATSU second year class.
ATSU Wellness Run — This event benefits the Student Emergency Fund and is held annually each spring.
Recreational activities — TCC offers recreational opportunities several times each year: a bowling night, bike tune-ups, organized nature hikes, dance, golf instructional opportunities, a swimming night, and kayaking and canoeing.

*Attention all spinners: Bring a water bottle and towel. Spinners and boxing circuit may reserve a spot 24 hours in advance on Wodhopper.
Weight training circuit, strength conditioning, yoga, spinning, barre, and osteoblasters are offered when instructors are available.
High Fitness: Combines high-intensity movement with moderate/active recovery tracks to help you avoid plateaus and constantly challenge your body in a safe and effective way. HIGH Fitness is a ZERO equipment, full body workout that has been shown to improve overall endurance, stamina, strength, and cardiovascular health. More importantly, it yields extremely important mental health benefits. Beyond the workout, HIGH Fitness brings fun, fabulous music, and a community like no other.
Power Yoga: Power yoga, which is also known as Vinyasa yoga, is a fast-paced style of yoga that's focused on building strength and endurance. It is also an excellent form of yoga for burning calories
Osteoblasts: Weightlifting club aims to introduce strength training in the form of powerlifting and Olympic lifting. The club provides an organized introduction to weightlifting and weekly class times where coaches will be available to educate and motivate
Spin: Highly effective way to build cardiovascular strength and endurance. Designed for all ages and fitness levels, Spin offers a challenging 60-minute ride with fun energizing music. It's the perfect opportunity to get your heart pumping while you burn some serious calories.
H.I.I.T: High-intensity interval training is a training technique in which you give all-out, one hundred percent effort through quick, intense bursts of exercise, followed by short, sometimes active, recovery periods. Can join via zoom or in person @ the TCC.
All classes run for 50/60 minutes and are free to all members.

TCC memberships are only available to ATSU students, employees, families, or alumni/retirees. Through a partnership agreement, memberships are also available to employees of Northeast Regional Medical Center and Northeast Missouri Health Council.
Initial membership registration must be completed, in person, with a student/employee photo ID, at the TCC during regular business hours (Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. -5:00 p.m., except university holidays).
