Requirements
1. Applicants must be US citizens or permanent residents.
2. Applicants must have received a baccalaureate degree from a regionally accredited institution prior to matriculation.
3. Applicants must have achieved a minimum 2.65 cumulative grade-point average (on a 4.0 scale) both overall and for their science course work.
4. Applicants must have completed one full academic year* or the equivalent in each of the following:
English - 6 semester (9 quarter) hours.
Biology - 8 semester (12 quarter) hours. Must include a laboratory and a basic course in general biology or general zoology.
Physics - 8 semester (12 quarter) hours. Must include a laboratory and cover the study of mechanics, sound, heat, magnetism, electricity, and light.
General or Inorganic Chemistry - 8 (12 quarter) semester hours. Must include a laboratory.
Organic Chemistry - 8 semester (12 quarter) hours. Must include a laboratory and cover the study of aliphatic and benzene compounds.
College Algebra or higher - 3 semester (5 quarter) hours.
*Exceptions on required courses may be considered on an individual basis.
5. Applicants are required to submit scores from the Graduate Record Exam (GRE), Medical College Admission Test (MCAT), or Dental Admission Test (DAT). Examination must have occurred within 3 years of application to the Biomedical Sciences program.
6. Applicants are required to provide two (2) letters of recommendation. One must be from a college science professor or academic advisor. The second letter must be from either a physician, a dentist, or a science professor.
