With ATSU’s dual DO/MPH program, you can earn your Master of Public Health (MPH) through ATSU’s College of Graduate Health Studies (ATSU-CGHS) while completing your Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree at ATSU-SOMA. The DO/MPH dual degree program offers a unique, integrated approach to healthcare education. It combines rigorous, evidence-based medical education with a comprehensive online public health curriculum.

    • Investigate underlying reasons for observed health inequities.

    • Conduct and design impactful health research studies and quality improvement projects utilizing diverse methodologies.
    • Critically review medical and public health literature to stay at the forefront of the field.
    • Understand and apply health literacy concepts to enhance health promotion and disease prevention.
    • Apply acquired knowledge to draft scholarly papers suitable for publication.
    • Present research findings at local, national, and international forums.
    • Assess health promotion and disease prevention strategies from multiple viewpoints.

Admissions

Applications for the MPH program are welcomed towards the end of the first year of the DO program ATSU-SOMA.

Graduates of the DO/MPH program are equipped with the knowledge and skills necessary to advance their careers and positively impact health outcomes in both rural and urban settings.
